Senior Architectural Systems supply innovative aluminium windows, doors, curtain wall and thermally efficient systems into the UK commercial construction sector. Founded in 1991, Senior Architectural Systems has become one of the UK's leading system suppliers, offering an extensive range of accredited and highly specified products which complements and extends our current offering in the UK and Ireland. With over 34 years of experience in the industry, SAS has many long-standing customer relationships with the UK's major fabricators supplying a diverse range of end-user markets offering a full façade package. In March 2025, SAS became part of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions.

We are seeking a positive, approachable, and experienced leader to head our Purchasing function in Doncaster. This role will work closely with other UK ASSA ABLOY companies at supplier level to ensure the most cost-effective and efficient supply arrangements are achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the sourcing of all goods and services supplied to the business.
  • Analysing spend data to identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities.
  • Negotiating supply agreements with nominated suppliers.
  • Representing and enhancing the ASSA ABLOY brand with suppliers and external partners.
  • Contributing to the annual activity plan for the Purchasing department and managing day-to-day team workloads.
  • Working collaboratively with Technical, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams to support the development of existing and new products.
  • Preparing procurement reports and presenting findings to wider teams when required.
  • Ensuring supplier compliance with the ASSA ABLOY Quality System.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best-practice procurement across the department.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • CIPS or an equivalent professional qualification (desirable).

  • A positive, approachable, and collaborative leadership style.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Confidence and resilience, with the ability to manage conflict and influence difficult stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
