As a Technical Sales Surveyor & Estimator, you'll be responsible for carrying out on-site surveys, providing expert technical advice, and preparing detailed quotations for industrial doors, roller shutters, loading bay equipment, and associated products. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Visiting customer sites to survey industrial doors, roller shutters, sectional doors, and other products
- Taking accurate measurements, assessing structural suitability, and identifying installation requirements
- Producing clear survey notes, drawings, and photographs
- Preparing accurate, competitive quotations based on survey findings
- Calculating materials, labour, access equipment, and specialist components
- Liaising with manufacturing and procurement teams to ensure technical feasibility and lead times
- Acting as a technical expert for customers, offering advice and explaining product options
- Following up on quotes, discussing solutions, and helping customers make informed decisions
- Identifying opportunities to upsell automation, safety features, and service contracts
- Working closely with engineers, planners, and the operations team to support successful installations
- Supporting tenders and major projects with accurate technical assessments and costings
What We're Looking For
- Experience in industrial doors, roller shutters, or a similar technical surveying role
- Experience preparing estimates or technical quotations
- Strong mechanical and electrical understanding of industrial door systems
- Confident communicator with excellent customer-facing skills
- Experience using CRM or estimating software
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of BS EN 13241, PUWER and relevant H&S regulations is desirable but not essential
- Ideally you will have a background in engineering, construction, or industrial products although this is not essential
