Purpose of the role
Working alongside and supporting all channels to assist in driving sales performance, generating, logging and management of ironmongery enquiries through specification led tools. To provide commercial and specification related quotations and schedules, promoting Carlisle Brass brands to proactively grow our business while also providing technical support to customer services, external sales, the wider business and our customers.
Your role in this team will also include the control and maintenance of customer price files, ensuring that prices are accurate and up to date, minimising invoice queries and improving our customer's experience with Carlisle Brass.
Key responsibilities
- Maintaining strong working relationships with our existing customer base to create new specification opportunities.
- Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls and e-mails to drive sales performance for Carlisle Brass.
- Achieving new profitable business development results by actively seeking new business opportunities.
- Recording and maintaining in depth records of all projects.
- Creating and maintaining an action/follow up plan for all projects.
- Providing technical advice and solutions on a day-to-day basis to members of the customer service team, our field sales team, our customer base and end users.
- Being proactive and following up on project opportunities, both new and existing.
- Learning how to prepare ironmongery schedules with a view to scheduling in the next 12-24 months to meet all current legislation and include full CB specification where possible.
- Researching and being aware of changes or revisions in industry standards and practices to ensure specifications generated are in compliance with the relevant standards and products specified are fit for purpose.
- Supplying and maintaining quotations for commercial and specification related projects.
- Maintaining records and producing monthly/daily reports where required.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with export customers, handling general enquiries, order processing and providing after-sales support.
- Maintaining awareness and compliance with customs and shipping regulations, to ensure delivery to customers without unnecessary expense or delay.
Skills, Competencies, Qualifications And Personal Experience
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- To be self-driven and able to work independently to manage their workload effectively and prioritise tasks accordingly.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A mind-set that always puts the customer first.
- Ideally familiar with Smartsheet, Barbour ABI & Intec Systems.
- Sound MS office skills.
- An understanding of the fundamentals of commercial and contract pricing.
- Commercial acumen.
- Project management skills.
- Ideally Dip GAI qualified or working towards, although this is not essential.
- Ideally 2 years industry experience in a similar role, preferably in a B2B environment, although this is not essential.
- A proven track record of hitting targets and delivering sales and projects.
