- National Sales Manager – Direct-to-Consumer
- South of England
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a market-leading business during a period of significant growth and investment.
We are looking to appoint a commercially driven National Sales Manager to lead, develop and expand a field-based direct-to-consumer sales team.
This role requires someone with previous leadership experience within a B2C or D2C sales environment.
You must have managed a team of sales professionals who visit customers in their homes, conduct consultations or product demonstrations, and convert qualified appointments into sales.
Experience gained within home improvements, windows and doors, fitted furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, stairlifts, mobility products, renewable energy, home security or another appointment-led in-home sales environment would be particularly relevant.
The business generates a high volume of pre-qualified consumer leads every day and already achieves strong conversion rates.
With plans to significantly expand the sales team and enter new territories over the next 12 months, this is a key appointment with considerable influence over the future development of the channel.
The National Sales Manager will be responsible for improving individual and team performance, raising conversion rates and ensuring customers receive a consistent, professional and consultative experience in their homes.
Key responsibilities will include
- Leading, coaching and motivating a geographically dispersed field sales team.
- Managing performance against revenue, appointments, conversion and average-order-value targets.
- Accompanying salespeople on customer appointments and providing practical, hands-on coaching.
- Improving the quality and consistency of in-home consultations and demonstrations.
- Developing the team’s consultative selling, value proposition, objection handling and closing skills.
- Ensuring pre-qualified leads are managed efficiently and followed up consistently.
- Using sales data and CRM reporting to identify performance gaps and opportunities.
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and development of additional salespeople.
- Helping launch new territories and establish consistent standards across the team.
- Working closely with marketing, customer service, operations and installation teams.
- Encouraging referral generation, additional-product sales and greater value from every customer interaction.
- Maintaining a premium, customer-focused sales experience while delivering ambitious commercial targets.
We are looking for someone who
- Has previous sales management or leadership experience within a B2C or D2C environment.
- Has led field salespeople who sell directly to consumers during appointments in customers’ homes.
- Understands appointment-led sales, in-home demonstrations and consumer conversion.
- Has a track record of coaching salespeople and improving individual performance.
- Is comfortable completing ride-alongs and observing customer appointments.
- Understands lead management, conversion rates, average order value and territory performance.
- Can balance strong commercial delivery with an ethical, consultative customer experience.
- Is analytical, performance-focused and confident using CRM information.
- Leads by example and is comfortable working closely with the team in the field.
- Can recruit, onboard and develop new salespeople as the team expands.
- Is based in, or has good access to, the South of England and can travel nationally when required.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious and well-invested business, take responsibility for an established sales channel and play a central role in its continued national growth.
