POSITION SCOPE

Provision of an effective maintenance service to all plant/equipment used within the refining and packing areas, with emphasis on improving plant availability and reliability.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet or exceed all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental targets.
  • Carry out plant isolations.
  • Maintain responsibility for all mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems within the Process, Packing, Utilities, and Jetty sections.
  • Perform reactive maintenance as required by plant priorities.
  • Progress to and adhere to maintenance plans.
  • Plan, schedule, and agree on daily/weekly workload with the Area Maintenance Leader, including Preventative, Predictive, and improvement activities.
  • Coordinate plant insurance inspections and liaise with inspectors when needed.
  • Complete plant improvement projects as time permits.
  • Supervise maintenance activities, optimize on-site resources and contractors to ensure high-quality repairs, servicing, and projects.
  • Liaise with contractors, manage RAMS and PTW procedures.
  • Supervise cleaning resources to maintain plant hygiene.
  • Administer and review SAP maintenance system for budgeting, trend analysis, reliability, and inventory management.
  • Provide high-tension (HT) cover for the site following appropriate training and assessment.
  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) on component failures and implement modifications to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provide cost estimates for improvement projects and generate capital requests.
  • Participate in all stages of capital projects, from planning to commissioning, including inspections and installation of new equipment.
  • Meet with suppliers, conduct audits, and visit supplier premises as required.
  • Mentor, train, and advise staff on engineering practices and maintenance issues.
  • Monitor plant reliability through uptime, OEE, and lost opportunities.
  • Achieve performance targets based on job-specific KPIs.
  • Maintain self-motivation and pursue continual personal development.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and provide long-term solutions.
  • Possess multi-skilled capabilities across various engineering trades.
  • Have knowledge of health, safety, and environmental systems and procedures.
  • Experience in planning and organizing engineering tasks involving contractor resources.

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Experience in maintenance within an automated continuous process environment, including PLC and/or high-tension (HT) systems.
  • Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques and regimes.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferably an HNC/NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline, or at least a BTEC/ONC in a relevant field.
