An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Head of Department to lead a thriving Secondary English faculty at a well-established international school in northern Vietnam. Overview

As Head of Secondary English, you will provide strategic direction for the department while maintaining an active teaching timetable. You will lead curriculum development, ensure high standards of teaching and learning, and promote outstanding student achievement across Key Stages 3 to 5. Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee departmental planning, assessment, moderation, and examination preparation, while supporting and developing a collaborative team of English teachers.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A Bachelor's degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a closely related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as a BEd, PGCE, or valid teaching licence (QTS or equivalent)
  • A Master's degree in English, Education, English Literature, or Educational Leadership
  • At least three years' successful experience teaching Secondary English
  • Demonstrated success teaching IGCSE and A Level English (Oxford or equivalent curriculum)
  • Experience designing curriculum, moderating assessments, and preparing students for external examinations
  • Previous experience leading a department, subject area, or curriculum team
  • Evidence of leadership or management training
  • International school or bilingual school experience will be viewed favourably
