We have an exciting role available within our Aspris Central team, whereby we are looking to add a Treasury Assistant to our already very established Finance Team based in Darlington. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll provide finance support to our schools, colleges and children's homes, helping to ensure that essential services can continue to deliver positive outcomes for the people they support. Alongside this, you'll work closely with your finance colleagues, assisting with a broad range of daily financial activities. Your attention to detail, organisation and teamwork will help keep processes efficient, accurate and compliant, making you an important part of the team behind the scenes.

  • Assist with daily and weekly cash flow monitoring, cash posting, and treasury processing activities across multiple bank accounts.
  • Prepare reconciliations and ensure financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
  • Download and process bank statements, allocating transactions and matching receipts using Excel-based processes.
  • Ensure all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner & investigate and resolve cash allocation queries, including obtaining remittance information where required.
  • Management of the petty cash/prepaid card platform (with spend tracking, controls, and reporting) including supporting the sites/departments to be compliant with policy/process of use of petty cash and credit cards.
  • Oversight & support of ad-hoc payment processing and compliance with internal approvals, company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with finance colleagues and other departments to ensure month-end deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the business and support treasury-related queries when required.

What qualifications and experience do you need?

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience (qualification not essential).
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience with accounting systems would be beneficial.
