Radio City School is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our Education team for an estimated start date of 19th August 2025. We are looking for a versatile, resilient and committed candidate who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support our pupils. The successful candidate will work alongside our teaching team, assisting the pupils with their work and supporting them with emotional regulation while establishing good relationships, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

We are an independent, specialist school providing education and care services to children and young people aged 8-18 years with a wide range of complex needs. This includes an autistic spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, child sexual exploitation, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other behaviours that may challenge. Our young people have often had negative experiences in school with substantial gaps in their education.
Responsibilities:
- Support the teaching team to ensure that the learning environment is appropriate, safe, and engaging.
- Support the teaching team in the delivery of learning and teaching activities as directed by the class teacher.
- Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies and local procedures.
- Assist with the day to day care and management of children and young people including safeguarding.
- Work co-operatively with school staff and other agencies to identify and address additional support needs.
- Contribute to the planning for individual pupils through Wellbeing Action Plans.
- Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
- Undertake any other duties relevant to the role of Teaching Assistant.
Experience (preferred but not essential):
- Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs and their families.
- Previous experience of working in an education setting would be desirable but is not essential.
