Newbury Manor School is looking to recruit an outstanding SEN Teacher to join our Teaching team on a 1-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of a permanent role. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who have autism, ADHD, and associated needs and will hold QTS.

About The School

Newbury Manor School is a specialist school for young people aged 7 to 19 who have autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Our tailored approach supports a wide range of needs, from those who are broadly average to those with more severe learning difficulties. We provide a safe, secure and predictable environment where pupils can understand their difficulties and develop skills to overcome them. Job Responsibilities

  • Carrying out the professional duties covered by the latest School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
  • Teaching a class of young people, ensuring planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
  • Using recognised and appropriate teaching strategies for SEN students.
  • Providing timely and accurate reports to all stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team, Governors (as required) and parents/carers.
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date records of assessments, learning and progress of each student against aspirational targets.
  • Upholding the positive ethos and core values of the school, inside and outside the classroom.
  • Working cohesively with key workers and the in‑house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educational schemes of work.
  • Providing the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening, including Disclosure.
