Children's Home Southampton are recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers now! We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and passionate people to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and be responsible for providing compassionate care during your time with them. This role also involves supporting the Registered Manager to run a successful staff team and to oversee the day-to-day operation of the home.

Situated in the heart of the vibrant city of Southampton, our Children's Home is a 5-bedded home that has provided support and care for children and young people with Learning Disabilities, Attachment Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, and other associated autistic spectrum disorders as well as young people experiencing difficulties with mental health, troubled family relationships, or conduct.

A Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential and Childcare is essential, as well as previous experience within a residential childcare setting along with the following characteristics:

  • Resilience: We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD, and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
  • Communication: Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication play a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
  • Organisation: As well as supervising the staff team, you'll need to be confident and organized in updating care plans and reporting information relevant to the care of our young people.
  • Caring: Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
  • Attentive: No young person is the same, so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
