Rugeley School are recruiting for a Deputy Head Teacher. We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder, with a passion for providing children and young people with special needs with the best possible education. You will have knowledge of formulating the aims and objectives of the school, whilst establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives. You will be energetic and have a strong sense of moral purpose, and the ability to inspire the team to achieve the highest standards to ensure best outcomes for pupils.

Rugeley School is an independent specialist school that supports young people aged 5-19 years with a diagnosis of autism and associated learning difficulties within the moderate to severe range. Our aim is to give more meaning to the environment in which young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) exist and to help them to lead fulfilling, happy, meaningful lives and prepare them for an independent adult life.

The successful candidate will have experience in supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs and supporting young people within SEN schools, along with the following characteristics:
- Resilience: We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
- Communication: Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Positive working relationships, good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
- Organisation: Organisation is key to ensure the safe management of both employees and resources as well as leading and directing staff through inspection processes.
- Caring: Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
- Attentive: No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital.
