We are recruiting for a painter and decorator to join our maintenance team. We require a part-time painter and decorator, with experience, to work at several sites in the Chorley and Preston area.
The successful candidate will work across our three Schools and two Children’s Homes completing all aspects of painting/decorating. General maintenance experience would also be desirable as you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of our sites. Owning your own vehicle is essential for this role and you will ideally have clean driving licence.
The successful individual will have a flexible approach and be able to respond quickly to requests for assistance from the surrounding homes and schools. A good knowledge of health and safety legislation applicable to your role is essential.
The hours for this role will be 9am until 3pm, Monday to Friday.
We are able to accommodate either full-time or term time for this role, this is open to discussion at interview

The schools and homes support young people who have mild, moderate and severe autism and associated complex learning needs, behaviours that may challenge and/or associated anxiety.

Ideally, you will have experience of general labouring skills and handyperson work, along with the following characteristics:
Communication During your role your working environment may involve interacting with our young people we support that may display varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties
Organisation As well as supervising the staff team, you’ll need to be confident and organised in record keeping, ensuring issues are logged on the internal computer systems and keeping up to date with routine maintenance checks.
Attentive No two jobs will be the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
