OverviewWoodview School are recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy team. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our therapy team. The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team, which may suit someone experienced in a special needs environment or newly qualified, who will be required to work closely with other therapists and other professionals providing support to students. Here at Aspris, we are proud to be a leading provider of specialist education services with over 30 schools nationwide. Set in its own private grounds, Aspris Woodview School provides holistic support to children and young people aged 7 to 19 years with autism. The curriculum design will enable students to follow a broadly mainstream curriculum to accredited qualifications, preparing them for adulthood and the world of work.

ResponsibilitiesThe practitioner will:

Be HCPC registered and hold a BSc Occupational Therapy or profession specific equivalent qualification.

Work with young people with complex needs and have knowledge of ASD and sensory processing disorders.

Apply sensory integration theory in practice, including assessment and clinical observations, and demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to delivering treatment approaches.

Take a strategic role in assessing, delivering and reviewing therapeutic provision for young people.

Proactively disseminate best practices to the wider support team and deliver on-site profession-specific training to colleagues as required.

Collaborate with a diverse team of Therapy and educational specialists to deliver tailored support that meets individual needs.

Join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated support staff and participate in a bespoke internal induction programme and networking with Therapists across other Aspris sites.

Qualifications and Experience

HCPC registration and a BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.

Experience of working with young people with complex needs is essential.

Experience/awareness of Sensory Processing Disorders and the application of sensory integration theory in practice, assessment and clinical observations.

A dynamic and creative approach to delivering treatment approaches.

The applicant will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated support staff, committed to delivering the very best care. The successful applicant will receive a bespoke internal induction programme and the ability to network with Therapists across other Aspris sites.
