Job Overview

We are recruiting for an interim Headteacher at Roehampton Gate School, a specialist day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders.

The role is based at Roehampton Gate School in Priory Lane with additional responsibilities for the new Putney Vale post‑16 site.

Advert closing date: 13th July 2026. Role start: ASAP until January 2027.

Responsibilities

The Headteacher will provide strong, strategic leadership for the school, ensuring a safe, inclusive and high‑quality learning environment for pupils with special educational needs.

Duties include

  • Leading and developing staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Overseeing safeguarding, curriculum development, and school improvement.
  • Building strong partnerships with families, external professionals and the wider community.
  • Ensuring the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, including those set by Ofsted.
  • Championing opportunities that support pupils’ independence and preparation for adulthood.

Qualifications & Skills
