Aspris operates three specialist schools in the Frome area: Fromefield Manor School, North Hill House School, and Newbury Manor School. We are seeking to recruit a Bank Teacher to work flexibly across all three settings. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and committed teacher who is passionate about enriching the learning experiences of our pupils. You will be teaching and supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, and associated needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and structured environment. About The Schools:

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with Autism. The school has been specifically designed so our class sizes are small to provide tailored teaching and support to the young people in our school. On average, there are between 2-6 young people per class, with a teacher and learning support assistants. Where necessary and appropriate, we are also able to explore bespoke 1:1 learning packages for individuals who need that level of support.

Fromefield Manor School is a new SEN school (opened September 2024) located in central Frome, Somerset and is a special school for up to 30 pupils, aged 11-19 who have a diagnosis of autism with associated complex needs. Fromefield Manor is operating through a Total communication approach and so experience of working with pupils with ASD and some knowledge of the use of TEACCH and PECS systems would be desirable. As Teaching Assistant at Fromefield Manor, your role will be to support teachers in implementing bespoke person-centred curriculums in order to meet a wide range of learner needs.

Newbury Manor School is a specialist school for young people aged 7 to 19 who have autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of needs, from those who are broadly average in their ability to others, who have more severe learning difficulties. We provide a total environment where young people are offered safe, secure and predictable surroundings in which they can come to understand their own areas of difficulties and learn skills and techniques in order to overcome them. The school is located in a beautiful, quiet, rural location in the outskirts of Somerset (Frome region) in a Georgian manor house, which has a range of outbuildings and extensive grounds.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to carry out the professional duties covered by the latest School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
  • The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in line with the professional standards for qualified teachers and uphold the professional code of the General Teaching Council for England.
  • Teach our young people, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
  • Have significant experience of using recognised and appropriate teaching strategies for our students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to all stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Governors (as required) and parents / carers.
  • Keep accurate up to date records of assessments of learning and progress of each student and match against aspirational and appropriate targets.
  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work cohesively with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educational schemes of work.
  • Provide the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding.
