North Hill School is recruiting an outstanding SEN Teacher (KS 1-2) to join our Teaching team. We are seeking an ambitious, energetic, and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting young people who have autism, ADHD, and associated needs. The candidate must be a qualified Teacher (holds QTS).
Responsibilities
- Teach a class of young people and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
- Have significant experience of using recognised and appropriate teaching strategies for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide timely and accurate reports to all stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Governors (as required), and parents/carers.
- Keep accurate up-to-date records of assessments of learning and progress and match against aspirational targets.
- Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work cohesively with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educational schemes of work.
- Provide the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
- Experience working with pupils who have autism, ADHD and associated needs is desirable.

About the School
Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with Autism. The school is designed so class sizes are small to provide tailored teaching and support, with 2–6 young people per class, a teacher and learning support assistants. Bespoke 1:1 learning packages are available where appropriate.
