Rugeley School are recruiting for a Deputy Head Teacher. We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder with a passion for providing children and young people with special needs with the best possible education. You will have knowledge of formulating the aims and objectives of the school, whilst establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives. You will be energetic and have a strong sense of moral purpose, and the ability to inspire the team to achieve the highest standards to ensure best outcomes for pupils.

Rugeley School is an independent specialist school that supports young people aged 5-19 years with a diagnosis of autism and associated learning difficulties within the moderate to severe range. Our aim is to give more meaning to the environment in which young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) exist and to help them to lead fulfilling, happy, meaningful lives and prepare them for an independent adult life.

Role and Responsibilities
- Lead as Deputy Head Teacher as part of the senior leadership team, contributing to the formulation of school aims and objectives and establishing policies to achieve them.
- Inspire and lead the team to achieve the highest standards and best outcomes for pupils.
- Develop and maintain outstanding relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
Requirements and Experience
- Experience in supporting young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs within SEN schools.
- Resilience: supports some of the most vulnerable children with varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and related challenges.
- Communication: strong ability to communicate with young people, build positive working relationships, and share information effectively with staff.
- Organisation: ability to manage staff and resources safely and lead teams through inspection processes.
- Caring: a natural caring and compassionate approach to supporting young people.
- Attentive: ability to understand diverse needs of the young people and respond accordingly.
