Eastwood Grange School is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team.
The role involves reactive day‑to‑day maintenance issues within the site and its grounds, basic gardening duties such as pruning, mowing, and other ad‑hoc requests.
You will liaise with contractors, support other homes in the community, and maintain accurate records on the internal computer systems.
Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive maintenance tasks on site and grounds.
- Perform basic gardening duties – pruning, mowing, etc.
- Assist with ad‑hoc requests from management and support other homes.
- Coordinate with contractors and ensure workloads are managed.
- Maintain accurate records and log issues on internal systems.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in general labour and handyperson work.
- Strong communication skills – ability to interact with young people who may have emotional, behavioural, or developmental needs.
- Organised with confidence in record keeping and routine maintenance checks.
- Attentive to detail, able to adapt to varying job requirements.
- Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening, including DBS/Disclosure checks, and provide at least two references covering the last three years.
