Rossendale School are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Humanities Teacher to join our team, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism and other associated needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in leading the provision of exceptional service to support the wellbeing, development and success of young people - enabling high-quality learning outcomes; encouraging colleague engagement and collaboration to foster a positive and supportive environment; and ensuring effective day-to-day leadership within areas of responsibility - championing the school's values, ethos, policies and procedures.,
- Providing inspirational leadership in key subject areas - History; Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) studies; Geography; Religious Education (RE) and Psychology.
- Championing continuous improvement and celebrating successful outcomes across the Humanities subjects school-wide.
- Enabling engaging, inclusive and high-quality learning opportunities for all pupils to thrive and reach their full potential.
- Producing regular reports and updates for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) within key responsibility areas.
- Supporting the Senior Leadership Team in promoting and embedding the school's values, policies and ethos.
- Effectively managing allocated resources and budgets to maximise their impact on meeting the needs of pupils and curriculum.
- Where needed, providing whole school leadership and oversight within designated areas of responsibility. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge and experience teaching Humanities subjects.
- Awareness, understanding and experience working with pupils with specific Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Autism.
- Knowledge and understanding of local and national educational policies.
- Ability to lead a subject area, support and inspire colleagues.
- Experience of leading whole school initiatives showing progress in practice.
