Children's Home, Home Farm are recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and be responsible for providing compassionate care during your time with them. This role also involves supporting the Registered Manager to run a successful staff team and to oversee the day-to-day operation of the home.

Our children's home provides care and support to children and young people that require intervention. We utilise the secure base model of Care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The overall focus of the home is to achieve positive outcomes for young people, we do this through multi-agency working, personalised care planning and creating positive attachments.

Due to the location and nature of the service, all applicants must drive and hold a UK driving licence. As long as you can demonstrate the values needed for a role within residential childcare, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress.

A Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential and Childcare is essential, as well as previous experience within a residential childcare setting along with the following characteristics:

  • Resilience - We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
  • Communication - Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
  • Organisation - As well as supervising the staff team, you'll need to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.
  • Caring - Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
  • Attentive - No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
