The Asprey Group are recruiting for a Product Development & Production Coordinator to join the Leather and Accessories Category team. The role is responsible for supporting the Designers in the process of developing new products and overseeing the production of those thereafter. The role will be the key contact for external suppliers and internal key category stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Managing daily/weekly tasks in line with work being developed or in production.
- Supporting the team with updates and keeping on top of suppliers.
- Partner closely with the designers to launch developments, turning design concepts into viable products supported by clear spec and tech pack (design) and BOMs (PD).
- Oversee production planning and execution, ensuring faulty, timelines, and margin targets are met.
- Capable management of end-to-end development cycles: prototype, sampling, iterations, costings, and technical problem solving.
- Liaising with suppliers and collating information such as stock availability, prices and delivery timelines, creating BoMs, and production orders; owning and updating planning and inventory tracking documents.
- Source and evaluate materials and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Visit factories and QC product when nearing completion.
- Conduct quality check at all key stages.
- Troubleshoot issues both in development and on the production floor, with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Working closely with our in-house workshop and being a key contact for communication on bespoke and made to order items and ensuring the wider team are notified of any issues in a timely manner.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar role at a premium/luxury leather goods brand.
- Experienced in working with leathers and raw materials (experience with exotics would be an advantage), hardware and leather goods construction.
- Experience with SAP B1 (desirable, but training will be provided).
- Microsoft Excel, including knowledge and use of formulas.
- Italian and/or French language skills would be beneficial.
