Aspiron is working exclusively with an early-stage AI security startup hiring a contract AI Engineer to build an MVP for an edge-based security product. You'll be working with small / lightweight LLMs to detect security concerns / threats on-device. It's a hands-on role suitable for candidates from a strong Microsoft / .NET background who have moved over into AI over the last few years. The contract will initially be 3-6 months with a strong probability of permanent employment upon contract termination.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and package a Windows service / executable for local deployment
  • Integrate small edge-based models into a working detection pipeline
  • Support prompt engineering and light fine-tuning for a narrow use case
  • Help create a secure auto-update process for models/configurations

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong engineering background, ideally with .NET / Microsoft stack experience
  • Experience deploying AI models in real-world products rather than building foundation models from scratch
  • Interest in edge AI, privacy-first systems, and cybersecurity

It's remote first with the occasional meet-up in London / Oxford (once every 2 weeks or so).
