We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support critical initiatives within our Commercial Finance domain. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial products such as commercial loans, leasing, floor planning, and large‐ticket asset financing (e.g., automotive, equipment). This role requires strong analytical capabilities, the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, and collaboration across cross‐functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyse business requirements related to commercial finance processes and systems.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for development teams.
- Conduct gap analysis, process mapping, workflow design, and system impact assessments.
- Support system enhancements, integrations, data mapping, and end‐to‐end solution validation.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, QA teams, and external partners.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, walkthroughs, and stakeholder reviews.
- Prepare documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead and support UAT efforts—creating test scenarios, coordinating testing cycles, and validating defects.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
- Provide subject‐matter expertise in commercial financing, leasing, loan servicing, and floor planning processes.
- Support change management, training materials, and readiness activities as needed.
Top Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years as a Business Analyst, with strong experience in technical, functional, and enterprise-level projects.
- Deep knowledge in Commercial Finance, including large‐ticket asset financing (autos, equipment, machinery), floor planning/inventory financing, leasing (retail and commercial), loan origination & servicing.
- Experience working in financial institutions, captive finance organisations, or large lending environments.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, credit workflows, payment schedules, amortisation, and asset lifecycle.
- Hands‐on experience with data mapping, API integration requirements, and enterprise system enhancements.
- Proficiency in creating detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.).
- Experience supporting UAT and working in Agile and hybrid environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Waterloo.
