We are seeking an Office Manager/Legal Assistant to join an established law firm in Exeter. This is an entry-level opportunity, well suited to a recent graduate or someone with relevant administrative experience who is keen to develop within a legal environment.

The successful candidate will provide general office administration and reception support, while also offering ad hoc paralegal assistance during busy periods. Responsibilities will include managing incoming post and telephone calls, opening files, ordering office supplies and providing overflow support to the wider legal team. The role is fully office-based and offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across both legal administration and day-to-day office management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage general office administration and day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Provide reception cover and welcome visitors professionally.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
  • Scan, file and organise documents accurately.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post, including occasional post office visits.
  • Monitor and order office supplies and other requirements.
  • Open new files and complete associated administrative processes.
  • Provide ad hoc paralegal and administrative support during busy periods.
  • Offer overflow assistance to members of the legal team.
  • Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Support the smooth and efficient running of the office.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm.

Hours and Benefits:

  • Full-time, office-based position
  • Monday to Friday 09:30 - 17:30
  • Salary: circa £27,000–£28,000 per annum
  • 25 days of annual leave plus 3 days over Christmas – increasing with length of service
