A leading international education group is seeking a forward-thinking Senior SEO & AI Automation Manager to lead its organic growth strategy across an extensive portfolio of schools. This newly created role sits at the intersection of advanced SEO, artificial intelligence and marketing automation. You will own the organic search roadmap across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms, while developing scalable systems that improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads across the wider marketing team. This is not a maintenance-focused SEO position. You will have the opportunity to shape the organisation's approach to organic growth, AI-generated search results and intelligent marketing workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- SEO Strategy and Leadership
- Own and develop the organic search strategy across a large, multi-site portfolio.
- Lead technical SEO audits and deliver improvements across site architecture, crawlability, indexing and website performance.
- Oversee on-page optimisation, internal linking, schema markup and link-building strategies.
- Improve visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI search and discovery platforms.
- Work closely with content, product, marketing and development teams to embed SEO best practices across all projects.
- Identify opportunities to increase organic traffic, visibility, enquiries and conversions.
- AI and Marketing Automation
- Design and implement scalable automation workflows for keyword research, rank tracking, competitor monitoring, backlink analysis and content optimisation.
- Develop Python-based scripts and tools that reduce repetitive manual work across the marketing function.
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to keyword clustering, content optimisation, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Build integrations, APIs and data pipelines connecting SEO platforms, analytics tools and internal dashboards.
- Create repeatable AI-powered solutions that can be deployed across a large portfolio of school websites.
- Support the wider marketing team in adopting AI tools and automation processes effectively.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Develop automated reporting systems using Python, Pandas and data visualisation tools.
- Monitor organic search KPIs and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, risks and growth opportunities.
- Use predictive modelling to forecast traffic and organic performance.
- Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- At least five years of SEO experience, with demonstrable success in driving organic growth.
- Strong technical SEO knowledge, including site architecture, indexing, schema markup and website performance.
- Experience managing SEO across multiple websites, brands or locations would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Google Search Console, Google Analytics and leading SEO platforms.
- Experience using tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Search Atlas or Surfer SEO.
- Practical experience using Python to create automation scripts, analyse data or build marketing tools.
- Experience applying AI or machine learning techniques to SEO, content or marketing data.
- Familiarity with NLP, keyword clustering, predictive modelling or content optimisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear commercial recommendations.
- Excellent communication, project management and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with frameworks such as scikit-learn, spaCy, TensorFlow or Hugging Face.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
- Knowledge of JavaScript SEO and server-side rendering.
- Familiarity with BigQuery or other large-scale analytics platforms.
- Experience using Git, CI/CD processes or cloud deployment environments.
- Experience working across a large international, multi-brand or multi-site organisation.
