We're hiring Business Development Managers to join a leading international events business delivering large-scale industry events across connectivity/telecoms and aviation. The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for driving new business revenue through the sale of sponsorship and partnership opportunities. You’ll own the full sales cycle - from identifying prospects and engaging senior stakeholders through to negotiating and closing commercial deals. This is a commercially focused role where consultative selling, relationship building, and strong execution are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within your sector
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders including Directors, VPs and C-level decision-makers
- Create tailored, value‑led commercial proposals
- Build and maintain a structured sales pipeline using CRM systems
- Forecast revenue and support commercial planning
- Work closely with internal teams across marketing and production
- Deliver consistently against revenue targets
About You
We're looking for individuals early in their careers who want to build a long-term career in commercial sales. You will ideally have:
- Up to 2 years’ professional experience
- Experience in recruitment, sales, or another commercial environment
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Confidence in prospecting and generating new business
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A strong commercial mindset and focus on targets
- A willingness to learn and develop within a fast‑paced sales environment
A degree or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential. We're particularly interested in candidates at the start of their career journey with strong potential. Prior experience in the events industry is not required.
