The Aspire Training Team is currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to complete a Level 3 Early Years Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship at Marsh Lane Day Nursery as a Room Leader.
About Marsh Lane Day Nursery: Established in 1995, Marsh Lane Day Nursery Ltd is located in a quiet area on Marsh Lane, easily accessible from Ilchester Road or Coombe Street Lane. The nursery is set back from the road with a private car park for parents. It features three outdoor play areas connected to Yeovil Recreation Centre, with nearby farms and country walks. The nursery has several rooms, including Bumble Bee and Ladybird rooms with ample space for crawling and exploring, a cosy cot room for rest, and Butterfly and Pre-school rooms offering stimulating activities for children preparing for school. Meals are prepared fresh on-site by our cook, meeting all children's dietary requirements. Our staff hold a range of Early Years qualifications from Level 2 to Level 6, and all are First Aid and Food Hygiene trained, with regular updates.
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting practitioners in meeting the needs of individual children and families.
- Being a key person for a small group of children, including planning and assessing their progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Ensuring children's basic needs are met, including hygiene, nappies, and meals.
- Planning and executing large group activities tailored to children's interests.
- Documenting and sharing children's development with parents/carers.
- Communicating daily with parents/carers.
- Maintaining an inclusive and safe environment, considering SEN and safeguarding procedures and legislation.
- Following the EYFS framework in practice with children.
Requirements:
- GCSEs A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent (e.g., functional skills).
- Must obtain a clear DBS check.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-18:00.
