The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to complete an Early Years Team Leader Level 3 Apprenticeship at Blossom Lodge Day Nursery as a Room Leader in their Pre-school room.

Our Early Years team leader or supervisor apprenticeship has been designed by sector experts to help individuals that have gained their EYE and are looking to progress into a leadership role.

At Blossom Lodge Day Nursery we are very lucky to have such a long servicing dedicated team providing the best quality childcare for children in Cheltenham aged 0-5 years of age. Blossom Lodge Day Nursery has been a Nursery for over 25 years, we have staff that have over 20 years’ service and nine members of our team have been working at the nursery for seven years plus.

This is an exciting opportunity to progress in your childcare career within a friendly team at a fantastic setting.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting practitioners in meeting the needs of the individual children and families.
  • To be a key person to a small group of children, which will include the planning and assessment of their key groups in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage and tracking their progress.
  • Ensuring children’s basic needs are always met, including but not limited to; good hygiene routines, nappies, meals encouraging good nutrition and sociable eating etc.
  • To plan and carry out large group activities meeting the needs of individual children and working with their interests.
  • To document the development of the children within your key group and share this with the parents/carers of the children within your group.
  • To liaise with parents/carers daily.
  • Setting up a safe and stimulating environment for children, this may include packing away.
  • Promote positive attitudes and behaviour at all times by providing a non-discriminatory environment which values and respects each child and family.
  • Ensuring an inclusive and safe environment having regard for SEN and safeguarding procedures and legislation.
  • Be committed to providing a play based approach for children’s learning.
  • Follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework in guidance with your practice with children.
  • Be responsible for equipment and resources and report when resources are running low.
  • Encourage parental involvement within the nursery, including parents consultations, events, and using parents as partners in their child’s learning.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification.
  • GCSE’s A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills.
  • Must obtain a clear DBS.

Hours:

Blossom Lodge Day Nursery is open between the hours of 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday. Working hours will be 44 hours per week across 4 longer days and 1 half day.
