About the role
Reporting directly to the Solutions Director, the Head of Projects will lead a team of high-performing Project Managers. The projects team are responsible for the successful delivery of all services sold, ensuring required business and customer outcomes are met to a high standard. As a Head of Projects, you will take full ownership of the line management, planning, resourcing, controlling and implementation of projects, ensuring that all project objectives are met, whilst following and upholding the standards and processes the Aspire Delivery team follow.
You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills with a proven track record in supporting your team to achieve their best, whilst fostering their career development to grow within the business. As part of this responsibility, you will be required to make the required decisions to meet and exceed our revenue targets whilst not compromising on the quality by leading by example and mentoring the team for the best possible outcome.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and empower a team of Project Managers through day-to-day people management to drive continuous improvement and push beyond current standards.
- Promote positive engagement across all Delivery and Aspire colleagues.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to the wider project office colleagues, to grow internal talent so they are ready for the next step in their Aspire careers.
- Actively drive the continued development of both your personal learning goals and project delivery processes improvements by working closely with the PMO Manager and Solutions Director.
- Represent and promote the core values of Aspire throughout any interaction (both internally and externally).
- Continually build strong relationships across the business by collaborating with a can-do attitude across all teams we interact with.
- Drive and own the successful start of projects by ensuring the right resources are assigned in swift fashion to mobilise the delivery and set it to succeed.
- Control and monitor the progress of the projects, adjusting as necessary to ensure the successful and timely completion of the project to meet revenue and client business outcomes.
- Ensure that the project deliverables/revenue are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
- Evaluate/report any lessons learnt from the project and feed these back to senior management.
- Monitor and report revenue achievements while continuously identifying and implementing improvements to consistently overachieve.
- Question methods and tools used to initiate, embrace and embed new ways of working.
- Proactively engage and include others to iterate on ideas and recommendations with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will suit the role if you have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and tactfully in critical situations.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- A constructive approach to problem-solving, suggesting efficiency improvements and generating out-of-the-box solutions through calculated risks.
- The ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, delegate tasks confidently and motivate others in an inclusive and respectful workplace.
- Able to provide specific examples of how you have supported the career growth of your direct reports, including the tools and methods you used to achieve this.
- The ability to navigate change with a positive, agile attitude, adopting challenges as learning opportunities and seeking new ways of working whilst driving efficiencies.
- Effectively delegate and empower team members to work independently with confidence at the expected level of quality.
- A full UK driving license.

Salary
£55,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location and Working Arrangements
You will be based at Aspire's Gateshead head office, with travel as necessary to meet business requirements.
Hours of Work
Full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday
