We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HGV Skills Development Tutor to deliver high-quality, engaging training to learners across multiple funding streams. The ideal candidate will support learners to develop their knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes, helping them achieve meaningful outcomes and progress in their careers. This role is perfect for someone passionate about developing others, confident in creating inspiring learning content, and committed to achieving positive learner outcomes.
The Role Involves:
- Designing and delivering engaging face-to-face and blended learning sessions in HGV skills across all funding streams.
- Carrying out initial and ongoing assessments to ensure learners are on the right programme with the right support.
- Creating schemes of work, session plans, and differentiated learning materials suitable for a range of learner needs.
- Using digital tools, online platforms and interactive resources to enhance the learner experience.
- Assessing learners’ work, providing meaningful feedback and setting clear development targets.
- Monitoring and tracking learner progress to support timely achievement and high success rates.
- Preparing learners for assessments, assignments or exams where required.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and quality assurance.
- Supporting recruitment activities, promotion of courses, and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Engaging with employers where needed to support progression and business opportunities.
You’ll Need:
- Minimum 5 years’ vocational experience within HGV or a related specialist subject area.
- 1–2 years’ experience delivering training, teaching or assessment.
- A recognised teaching qualification (working towards or holding a Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures, including emergency evacuation.
- Excellent coaching, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to develop creative, learner-centred teaching resources.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.
- A supportive, flexible and motivating approach to helping learners achieve.
Due to the site you will be working at, you will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
