We are looking for a confident and motivated Employability Service Manager to lead the delivery of a new employability and health programme across Staffordshire. This is a senior operational role, responsible for managing and developing a mobile team to deliver high-quality services with empathy, consistency and strong performance outcomes. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth delivery, compliance and continuous improvement across the service. This role requires regular travel across Staffordshire, therefore a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and support an operational team delivering high-quality employability services across a defined area.
  • Drive performance through regular reviews, coaching and development, using an established Performance Management Framework.
  • Support the Operations Manager to ensure effective, compliant and timely delivery of the programme.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and referral partners to maximise referrals and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and maintain accurate CRM data, reporting and management information.
  • Monitor service quality, manage customer feedback and implement continuous improvement activity.
  • Report performance to senior management in line with organisational and commissioner requirements.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with organisational values and recognised best practice frameworks.

Required skills and experience

  • Experience leading and supporting teams within employability, health, justice or related public sector services.
  • Proven experience in people management, with a strong track record of achieving performance and service delivery outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, labour market trends and public sector policy.
  • Experience managing performance, MI, financial information and budgetary considerations.
  • Confident user of ICT systems, including CRM platforms and reporting tools.
  • Experience producing high-quality written reports and presenting performance information to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the NHS and health sector and how it links to employability services.
  • Excellent communication, networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A resilient, empathetic leader with a results-driven approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be a vehicle driver with access to your own vehicle. You will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
