We are recruiting for an IPS Employment Specialist to support individuals facing barriers into sustainable employment across the Borough of Wyre. This is a rewarding, person‑centred role where you will manage a varied caseload, providing tailored one‑to‑one support to help individuals build confidence, develop skills, and secure meaningful work. You’ll take a proactive approach, working closely with local employers to identify opportunities and support customers throughout their journey into employment and beyond. This role would suit someone with a background in recruitment or employability who has a genuine passion for making a positive difference.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of customers, conducting detailed assessments to identify strengths and barriers to employment
  • Creating personalised action plans aligned to individual goals and career aspirations
  • Supporting customers with job search activities, CV writing, interview preparation and skills development
  • Building confidence and independence through regular engagement, coaching and goal setting
  • Engaging with employers to identify suitable opportunities and promote candidates
  • Providing in‑work support to ensure job retention and address any challenges within employment

Requirements

  • Experience as an employment advisor or as a commercial recruitment consultant
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to motivate and influence
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload or pipeline and achieve outcomes or KPIs
  • Confidence engaging with employers and adopting a business development approach
  • Experience of providing advice, guidance or coaching to support individuals
  • A proactive, organised and solution‑focused approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting people into sustainable employment

Due to the nature of this role, you will hold a driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, and you will also be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if offered the position.
