Role Purpose:
We are looking for a Maths Tutor to deliver high-quality Functional Skills and GCSE lessons that inspire learners and maximise achievement. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging sessions, ensuring all learners reach their potential and progress effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver dynamic, inclusive lessons that challenge and motivate learners.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to create personalised learning plans.
- Promote high expectations, building confidence and aspiration among learners.
- Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Track learner progress, identify those requiring intervention, and provide additional support.
- Deliver teaching across centres, groups, and individual learners as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety policies.
About You:
- Recent experience teaching Maths to post-16 learners in a training provider or college setting.
- Skilled in preparing learners for Entry 3 – Level 2, including Functional Skills and GCSE.
- Up-to-date knowledge of post-16 curriculum requirements and assessment methods.
- Passionate about supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Resilient, adaptable, and reflective, with a creative approach to teaching and problem-solving.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Teaching qualification (Level 4 or above).
- MathsLevel 2 (GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent).
- Proven success in teaching Functional Skills and GCSE to disengaged learners.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Due to the nature of this role you will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
