The Role:
We re recruiting for a Maths Tutor to deliver high-quality Functional Skills and GCSE Maths lessons across a range of learning environments. You ll be supporting learners to achieve their potential by creating an inclusive, supportive classroom and using engaging teaching methods.
Duties:
- Plan, deliver and assess effective Maths lessons tailored to learner needs.
- Carry out initial and ongoing assessments to inform personalised learning plans.
- Use inclusive strategies to support learners with SEND, behavioural challenges or other barriers.
- Provide constructive feedback and track progress to drive improvement.
- Identify learners at risk of underachievement and put timely interventions in place.
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes confidence and high expectations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and share best practice.
- Deliver sessions across different centres and to a range of learner profiles.
Required Skills:
- Recognised teaching qualification and subject-specific qualifications for Functional Skills and/or GCSE delivery.
- Experience working with disengaged or hard-to-reach learners.
- Strong behaviour and classroom management skills.
- Able to engage and motivate diverse learner groups.
- Confident using assessment data to plan and support learner progress.
- Resilient, adaptable and reflective in your teaching practice.
- Committed to professional development and collaborative working.
- Flexible and willing to travel across sites when needed.
Due to the nature of this role, you be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
