A long-established, family-run meat distribution business is seeking a reliable and physically fit HGV Class 1 or Class 2 (CE) Driver to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves nationwide deliveries, early morning starts, and working within a fast-paced environment handling meat produce in carcass form.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 or Class 2 driver who enjoys working independently, is comfortable with manual lifting, and is happy to travel across the country as part of a weekly rota.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate a Class 1 or Class 2 vehicle for nationwide deliveries
- Load and unload meat carcass products (manual lifting required)
- Maintain high standards of vehicle safety, cleanliness, and compliance
- Follow delivery schedules with early morning starts
- Complete all required delivery paperwork and records accurately
- Represent the company professionally with customers and suppliers
- Work effectively as part of a rota and support operational needs
- Adhere to all transport legislation, company policies, and food safety standards
- Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 (CE) licence
- Minimum 1 year Class 1 or Class 2 driving experience (insurance requirement)
- Physically fit and comfortable handling carcass meat
- Ability to work early shifts and nationwide routes
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
