HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Driver - Permanent Position
Location: Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester
Salary: £32,011.20 - £48,800 per annum Overtime & Benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Early starts (04:00-06:00), Monday to Friday rota
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established, family-run meat distribution business seeking experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 (CE) and Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for professional drivers looking for stable, permanent employment with excellent earning potential. The role involves nationwide deliveries of meat products, including carcass meat, requiring a good level of physical fitness and a strong commitment to health, safety, and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles on nationwide delivery routes
- Load and unload meat carcass products where required
- Complete deliveries efficiently and in line with scheduled times
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
- Complete all delivery documentation accurately and on time
- Provide excellent customer service when delivering to customers nationwide
- Adhere to all transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and company procedures
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Support the wider transport operation as required

What We're Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 1 (CE) or Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 12 months' HGV driving experience preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Flexible approach to early starts and nationwide routes
- Excellent understanding of driver hours and transport compliance
- Strong communication and customer service skills
