The Role
We are looking for proactive, self-motivated Employment Advisors to join a Connect to Work team across South West Staffordshire. This is a rewarding role working directly with individuals who have disabilities or health-related challenges, supporting them to secure sustainable employment and build long-term confidence and independence. We welcome applications from candidates with prior Employment Advisor experience or a background as a Recruitment Consultant, as both provide relevant skills for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a personal caseload, delivering all customer interactions face to face within the community.
- Carry out detailed diagnostics at initial appointments to understand each customer’s employment history, skills, learning needs, and barriers to work.
- Develop tailored action plans and refer customers to relevant training, workshops, mentoring, and other interventions to address barriers and improve employability.
- Set clear SMART targets with each customer and review progress at every appointment to support sustainable movement into employment.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting on customer outcomes and progress.
Required Skills and Experience
- Prior experience as an Employment Advisor or as a Recruitment Consultant managing a caseload and supporting individuals into work.
- Experience supporting people with multiple barriers to employment, including conducting in-depth diagnostics and identifying realistic pathways into work.
- Strong skills in setting and monitoring SMART targets, with a focused and organised approach to caseload management.
- High level of empathy and a genuine commitment to helping people achieve positive outcomes.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be a vehicle driver with access to your own vehicle. You will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and you will have access to your own vehicle as you will travel across the region.
