The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, calibrating, and testing a range of portable combustion and emission analysers, ensuring products meet the highest quality standards before reaching customers. Working within a quality-driven environment, you will play a key role in maintaining performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, calibrate, and test combustion and emission analysers in line with ISO 9001 standards.
- Prepare, configure, and programme products prior to calibration and testing.
- Complete accurate Calibration Test Reports and technical documentation.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to non-conforming products.
- Read and interpret circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Carry out mechanical assembly and soldering activities where required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Provide support during busy periods, including occasional overtime when required.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled individual who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a service, calibration, electronic testing, or similar technical role.
- ONC in Electronic Testing or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills.
- Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Experience with soldering, electronic assembly, and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Confident using PC hardware and software for product setup, configuration, and testing.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Awareness of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
