Are you an experienced IT professional looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely shape the future of technology within a growing business? Aspire Recruitment is partnering with an established, multi-site organisation to recruit an IT Manager who will play a pivotal role in both the day-to-day delivery of IT services and the long-term development of the company's technology strategy.
This is a rare opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also influencing the bigger picture. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the gradual transition of IT services in-house, helping to build and develop an internal function that supports the future growth of the business.
As the organisation's IT Manager, you'll be the go-to person for all things technology, supporting employees across multiple UK locations while driving strategic improvements to infrastructure, systems, processes and cyber security. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, external IT providers and colleagues at all levels, combining technical expertise with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, equally comfortable resolving day-to-day IT challenges as they are planning future projects, implementing improvements and influencing business wide technology decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for IT support across the business.
- Manage and improve IT systems, infrastructure and technology processes.
- Drive cyber security initiatives and ensure best practice remains embedded across the organisation.
- Work alongside external IT providers whilst supporting the long-term plan to bring services in-house.

- Manage hardware, software, licences and IT assets.
- Assess and recommend new technologies to support business growth.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures and documentation.
- Build strong relationships with employees and stakeholders across the business.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
We welcome applications from a range of industries. Sector experience is less important than your ability to bring the technical expertise and commercial mindset required for the role.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an IT Manager, IT Lead or Senior IT Support position.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments and network infrastructure.
- Excellent cyber security knowledge and experience (essential).
- Experience supporting a multi-site business.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience managing third-party IT providers.
- A genuine interest in developing and improving IT functions over the long term.
Desirable but not essential:
- Apple Mac experience and knowledge.
- Experience transitioning IT services from outsourced to internal delivery.
What’s In It For You?
- Hybrid working – 1 day per week from home.
- Flexible working hours with core hours of 10am to 4pm.
- 37.5 hour working week.
- Opportunity to shape and influence the future IT direction of the business.
- Varied role combining strategic projects with hands-on technical support.
- Supportive and collaborative working environment.
- Long-term career opportunity within a business that values innovation and continuous improvement.
- Quarterly travel to sites in Leeds, Gloucestershire, Liverpool and London (expenses paid).
This role is about more than simply keeping systems running. It’s an opportunity to become a trusted technology partner within the business, helping colleagues succeed while building a modern, scalable and secure IT function for the future.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people who enjoy working with others, can build credibility across an organisation and want to make a lasting impact through technology.
