The Role:
As the organisation enters an ambitious new phase of growth and transformation, including an expansion into Cardiff Bay, they are seeking an organised, creative and delivery focused Marketing & Events Manager to lead high-quality marketing activity across campaigns, events, digital channels, supplier relationships and brand delivery.
With a focus on creating a cleaner, safer, greener and more vibrant capital city, the Marketing & Events Manager will lead the planning and delivery of marketing activity that supports projects, campaigns, events and place making initiatives.
As Marketing & Events Manager, you’ll ensure consistent, brand aligned marketing outputs across digital and offline channels, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing the smooth delivery of campaigns and event logistics. You’ll lead the City Experience Working Group, sharing progress and insights with city‑wide stakeholders and championing initiatives that illustrate the organisations’ return on investment to members.
This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of accuracy, accessibility, digital effectiveness and brand integrity across all marketing materials, while using data and insight to improve campaign performance and member experience.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns supporting projects, services and events with an audience first approach.
- Produce clear, accurate marketing materials including print, web copy, signage, newsletters and digital assets.
- Maintain and update content across communication channels including the website, email, social media and CRM platforms.
- Set up, manage and optimise paid digital campaigns across Meta, Google, LinkedIn and programmatic channels.
- Plan and evaluate organic digital activity, including social content, SEO informed updates and email performance.
- Monitor campaign analytics, reporting on reach, engagement, conversions and return on investment.
- Ensure all outputs meet brand standards, tone of voice, accessibility requirements and compliance expectations.
- Proofread and check all content for accuracy, tone and quality, identifying and correcting inconsistencies early.
- Manage creative agencies and freelancers to deliver campaign assets, seasonal concepts and business as usual marketing activity.
- Provide timely updates and clear reports on campaign progress, risks, outcomes and learning.
- Plan and deliver promotional activity for events, seasonal campaigns and member facing initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing logistics including signage, photography, videography, printed collateral and digital assets.
- Work closely with partners, suppliers and event teams to ensure smooth and effective delivery.
- Provide on-site leadership during events, ensuring marketing elements are executed to a high standard.
- Ensure all event communications and materials align with messaging and brand guidelines.
- Brief and manage creative agencies and freelancers to support event campaigns, promotional activity and seasonal concepts.
- Stay calm and solutions focused when plans change, coordinating people diplomatically and keeping partners informed.
- Line manage and develop the Marketing Executive, providing clear direction, coaching and support.
- Lead the City Experience Working Group, ensuring progress, insight and actions are shared clearly with stakeholders.
- Manage team workload, deadlines and multiple concurrent marketing tasks, ensuring quality is maintained.
- Maintain organised records of campaigns, assets, supplier activity, approvals and performance data.
- Follow procurement, permissions, GDPR and compliance processes reliably and consistently.
- Produce clear internal reports, SLT updates and contributions to board papers where required.
- Manage day to day marketing budgets, financial tracking, value for money assessments and workstream reporting.
- Oversee agency contracts, scopes of work, procurement and delivery for creative, digital and marketing suppliers.
- Own the user experience of digital products and member facing services, including websites, member portals, digital tools and campaign landing pages.
- Identify and lead improvements to digital journeys, accessibility, usability and overall member experience.
- Use data, analytics, audience research and user feedback to inform campaign design, digital enhancements and service improvements.
- Stay informed about trends in brand and digital marketing, AI, data driven audience research and destination marketing.
- Collaborate closely with the Member Relations team to ensure marketing activity is audience led and insight driven.
- Identify opportunities to enhance digital products, services and the events programme, developing them into actionable plans.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, sharing insights and supporting professional development for themselves and the Marketing Executive.
