Our client is a well-established international logistics provider with a strong UK presence. They are seeking a Road Freight Operator to join their team based at a modern logistics site. This is a full-time, permanent position supporting European road freight operations within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage European groupage road freight services from origin through to final destination
  • Coordinate both international and domestic freight movements
  • Liaise with customers, overseas partners, and external suppliers
  • Work as part of a departmental team of approximately 15, within a wider operational group
  • Ensure accurate handling of freight documentation, including customs paperwork
  • Calculate costs, charges, and taxable kilos manually where required

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in European road freight operations
  • Strong understanding of European road freight processes
  • Experience calculating costs, charges, and taxable kilos
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of customs documentation
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
  • Ability to drive, due to limited public transport access at the site

Desirable

  • Experience working within a freight forwarding environment
  • Familiarity with groupage services

Package

  • Salary dependent on experience, with a budget of up to £35,000 per annum
