Our client is a well-established international logistics provider with a strong UK presence. They are seeking a Road Freight Operator to join their team based at a modern logistics site. This is a full-time, permanent position supporting European road freight operations within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage European groupage road freight services from origin through to final destination
- Coordinate both international and domestic freight movements
- Liaise with customers, overseas partners, and external suppliers
- Work as part of a departmental team, within a wider operational group
- Ensure accurate handling of freight documentation, including customs paperwork
- Calculate costs, charges, and taxable kilos manually where required
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in European road freight operations
- Strong understanding of European road freight processes
- Experience calculating costs, charges, and taxable kilos
- Proven customer service skills
- Working knowledge of customs documentation
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- Ability to drive, due to limited public transport access at the site
Desirable
- Experience working within a freight forwarding environment
- Familiarity with groupage services
Package
- Salary dependent on experience, with a budget of up to £35,000 per annum
