Our client is seeking an Internal Sales Assistant Manager to act as a key link between operations, sales, and client management. This is a varied role combining elements of account management and office support, focused on maintaining client relationships, managing quotations and orders, and ensuring smooth day-to-day business operations. The position suits someone highly organised, commercially aware, and confident managing both clients and internal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management & Client Services:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication
- Build strong, long-term relationships to encourage repeat business
- Ensure clients remain active and engaged
- Provide updates on orders, deliveries, and any service-related queries
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for clients
- Manage incoming orders via phone and email
- Place orders with suppliers in a timely manner
- Negotiate competitive buying rates and apply appropriate client pricing
- Follow up on outstanding quotations to maximise conversion
- Monitor daily and monthly turnover against targets
- Support the day-to-day running of the office and internal processes
- Assist in overseeing the Accounts function to ensure smooth operations
- Manage vehicle-related services including insurance, fuel, and upkeep
- Identify and implement process and purchasing improvements
- Maintain accurate records using SAGE, Excel, and Word
- Support reporting and general administrative duties
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in an account management, sales support, or office management role
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence with pricing and negotiations
- Proficiency in SAGE, Excel, and Word
Desirable:
- Experience supporting accounts or finance-related processes
- Background in purchasing or supplier coordination
- Experience working in a fast-paced, SME environment
