Role Overview: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

This is a long-term career opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing team. The successful candidate will support the commercial team on both live projects and pre-construction activities, helping to ensure financial control and project delivery excellence.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle and be mentored by experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors, contributing to the continuous improvement of the commercial department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing commercial aspects of several live and pre-construction projects
  • Participate in full project lifecycle activities, from pre-construction to delivery
  • Support monthly CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) meetings
  • Conduct post-tender pricing analysis and assessments
  • Help manage and administer subcontractor accounts
  • Develop a solid understanding of project contracts, specifications, and pricing
  • Carry out site visits and measure works for subcontractor payments

Candidate Profile

  • HNC (or higher) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • Strong numerical and commercial awareness
  • Eagerness to learn from experienced colleagues and follow direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
