  • Contract Manager – Permanent, Office based, Milton Keynes
  • Salary Β£72,500 pa plus excellent benefits (full time 9-5pm)

We are recruiting a Contract Manager for our client who are a leading diagnostic solutions and medical equipment provider based in Milton Keynes.

As a Contract Manager you will be responsible for leading the negotiation, execution, governance and ongoing management of Managed Service Contracts, commercial agreements and Partner Supplier sub-contracts across the company diagnostic portfolio.

You will act as the commercial contract subject matter expert, supporting major tender opportunities, contract mobilisation, performance management and contract renewals whilst ensuring regulatory compliance and effective management of commercial, contractual and operational risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Response and Contract negotiation - Successful completion of all commercial contract negotiations and documentation on behalf of the business when supplying direct to customers within the NHS or Private Sector.

Liaising with the company's lawyers as well as legal representatives from customers and Partner Suppliers to finalise commercial contract negotiations (including KPIs) both during the tender process and following award.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations including PCR2015 and PA23
  • Contract Delivery and Contract Performance - Management and monitoring of contract performance post implementation including delivery against SLA and KPI contractual obligations by both the business and Partner Suppliers
  • Business Development and sales support, presenting to customers and meetings with customers as part of the pre-sales and the Tender Processes.

Working with other members of the Commercial Support Services Department to produce and collate tender responses

  • Administration – ensuring all documents are completed according to the required standard and quality.

Create and update as required documentation relating to training, installation, SOPs and regulatory issues.

Lead on CLMS System implementation and maintain database.

  • Update CMS / CRM / SAP systems as needed
  • Personal Training – take responsibility for personal training and development, attend all required company training
  • Health & Safety – Attend all H&S required training. Adhere to company and customer H&S rules and regulations
  • Environmental – Adhere to company environmental rules and regulations.

Essential skills and qualification requirements

  • Proven experience in a Contract Management role – negotiating and executing Commercial Contracts with NHS customers
  • Proven track record of negotiating and delivering successful commercial contracts with Partner Suppliers and managing multi-supplier Managed Service Contracts
  • Demonstrable experience identifying, assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risk.
  • Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively to support sales / business development teams deliver their performance objectives
  • Detailed understanding of NHS procurement processes, framework agreements and public procurement legislations
  • Educated to degree standard or an equivalent business qualification
  • Experience interpreting commercial pricing models, financial schedules, service credits, KPI mechanisms and contract profitability metrics.
  • Full driving license

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience managing complex commercial contracts within IVD diagnostics environments.
  • Experience with Contract Law, Procurement Challenges and Contract Termination
  • Foundation Certificate in Commercial & Contract Management (World CC or other provider)
  • Knowledge of the main laboratory-based IVD supplier technologies and capabilities preferably business diagnostic technologies
  • Experience implementing and rolling out software
