- Position: SEND Teaching Assistant - Full-Time
- Duration: September 2026 onwards
The Role
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2.
- Support pupils with their learning, emotional well-being and social development.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual support plans and classroom strategies.
- Help pupils access the curriculum through appropriate adaptations and differentiated activities.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.
- Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals where appropriate.

- Previous experience working with children with SEND or additional needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- A calm, patient and consistent approach.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- A genuine commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
