  • Position: SEND Teaching Assistant - Full-Time
  • Duration: September 2026 onwards

The Role

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2.
  • Support pupils with their learning, emotional well-being and social development.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual support plans and classroom strategies.
  • Help pupils access the curriculum through appropriate adaptations and differentiated activities.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.
  • Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals where appropriate.

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND or additional needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible, proactive and supportive approach.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • Two professional references.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
