Location: West Bromwich
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract Type: Full-time/temp to perm
Role
This is a unique opportunity to teach English in a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment that values relationship-based practice and individualised support. Working with a small group of students, you will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in English, while supporting pupils' personal and emotional development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a broad and balanced English curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
- Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with students to support their SEMH and behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred - but we welcome applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience
- Experience or strong interest in working with SEMH, autism and/or behavioural needs
- Strong classroom management skills and a trauma-informed approach
- Passion for English and creative, flexible teaching methods
- Empathy, resilience and a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people
