Are you an experienced maintenance professional looking to transition into the education sector? We are looking to recruit a number of maintenance professionals on an ongoing temporary basis to support the site teams in carrying out day‑to‑day general maintenance and site work across schools in the area. There will be full‑time and part‑time positions available throughout the school year. These positions run for a variety of durations, and there may also be an opportunity to move to a permanent contract within the schools, although this is not guaranteed. You must be available to start straight away and be flexible with the working hours, as some schools require staff to work split shift patterns. For example, 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. then 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general maintenance of the school as well as litter picking.
  • Carry out odd jobs delegated to you by the supervisor.
  • Open and close the school building.
  • Work independently and as a team to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Set alarms.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK with right‑to‑work documents.
  • Obtain an enhanced child workforce DBS check. Please note the cost may be up to £47.20 unless already registered on the update service.
  • Available to start immediately and flexible with split shift patterns.

Additional Information:

This role is temporary and may become permanent. It is offered on a temporary basis but the caretaker will behave as a permanent member during their duties.
