About the Role

Aspire People are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming school in Telford. This is a full-time, long-term position, where you will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of young children in their early years of education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons to Key Stage 1 pupils.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, especially for pupils who may need additional help.
  • Support the development of early literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Encourage children to build their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Help to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe, supportive space for all pupils.
  • Support children during break times and lunch periods when required.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working with young children is essential; experience within Key Stage 1 or Early Years is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, or similar) is preferred, but experience will also be considered.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children at their level.
  • A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to working with children.
  • Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
