Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are currently seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a variety of supportive and dynamic SEN schools and provisions for several well-established schools in the Chester area.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their daily learning and personal development. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to students, helping them to achieve their potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN.
* Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Help with classroom management and provide additional support during lessons.
* Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports the needs of all students.
* Monitor and track students\’ progress and report back to the class teacher.
* Support students in building confidence and self-esteem.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
* Potential to liaise with parents about progress.
Essential Criteria
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN setting.
* A passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Patience, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.
* Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable).
* Experience of working with specific SEN needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia) is a plus.
